In preparation for their April 12, 2014 showdown, Manny Pacquiao (55-5-2, 38 KOs) and Timothy Bradley (31-0, 12 KOs) sit down with Max Kellerman to discuss their upcoming fight. In summary, Bradley wanted to make it clear that it is his time to shine in the sport. Manny let the world know that he believes he still has that killer instinct and prayed to God that his killer instinct will be on display on the night of April 12.
This “Face Off” showed a hesitant Manny Pacquiao, one that did not appear to believe in his words and claims of still having that “eye of the tiger”. At times, he sounded sarcastic and said he would pray to God to get that killer instinct back for this upcoming fight. Bradley didn’t buy it and firmly stated that whatever killer instinct or eye of the tiger that Manny once had is now gone. I guess we will have to wait and see.
Behind The Gloves and Gorilla Productions hooked up to put together this great video. Floyd Mayweather’s top 5 career moments gives fans insight to his experience’s of great emotion, struggle, victories, defense, rise to stardom, and the capturing of his first title.
With Floyd days, hours, minutes away from announcing his next opponent, this video will provide a good opportunity to remember, recall, and reflect on the greatness of Floyd. Hate him or love him, he is simple The Best Ever of our current boxing era.
Shout out to Pound 4 Pound DVD (you can find them on Facebook) for sharing the youtube link to the trailer for “Manny.” “Manny” is soon to be released at the 2014 SXSW Film Festival. The synopsis describes this documentary as the story of Manny Pacquiao and his journey from poverty to capitalistic riches, becoming 8 time boxing world champion, his political career, and his international icon status.
Many notable figures appear in the trailer, including his current trainer Freddie Roach, long-time fan Mark Wahlberg, and former strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, to name a few.
Credit goes to the Ring Magazine article (http://ringtv.craveonline.com), but this is a crazy compilation on basically what would make ALL of my 2014 be the best of all years, a fight between Manny and Floyd. We’ll see, but overall, after this video, and if Floyd NEVER fights Manny, I would still tell my kids that Manny was the people’s champ, period.
Looks like it is official. Mike Alvarado (34-1, 23 KOs) will be facing Ruslan Provodnikov (22-2, 15 KOs) on October 19, 2013.
Mike is coming off a 12 round majority decision win against Brandon Rios. This was after his first fight with Rios, where Mike was stopped in 7 rounds.
Ruslan is coming off a 12 round decision lose to Timothy Bradley. It was a great fight that is definitely a fight of the year candidate for 2013. Ruslan hurt Timothy on multiple occasions and even scored a knockdown in the final round.
This fight has all the right ingredients for an instant classic. Ruslan likes to come forward and pressure his opponents and dish out powerful blows. Mike Alvarado can box and he showed that against Brandon. Alvarado does get caught up in exchanges and will not hesitate in going toe to toe with Ruslan. If he does go toe to toe however, the power will most definitely be in favor of the Ruslan.
